Stone Bridge, Valley Volleyball March On

Stone Bridge defeated visiting West Springfield, 10-25, 25-14, 25-14, 23-25, 15-9, in the quarterfinals of the Northern Region tournament on Tuesday. The Bulldogs, who have won 13 in a row, will face Westfield in the regional semifinals, hosted by Centreville High School, on Thursday. They are scheduled to start 25 minutes after the 6 p.m. match between Herndon and Chantilly. Updated bracket here.

In the Northwest Region tournament, Loudoun Valley also picked up a home victory, sweeping past Woodbridge, 25-16, 25-5, 27-25. The Vikings will next play at Colonial Forge on Thursday at 6 p.m.

Meantime, in the Region II tournament, Heritage fell to Western Albemarle, 18-25, 25-19, 25-16, 19-25, 12-15, ending the Pride's season on Tuesday. Loudoun County, which had a first-round bye as the top seed, will host a semifinal match on Thursday.
