Welcome back to the Top Five Football Power Poll for Week 11.

Our top-ranked team overcame injuries to finish their regular season campaign with a perfect record and they head into the Northern Region playoffs this week. On the Dulles District front, Broad Run, Potomac Falls and Briar Woods have all punched their postseason tickets. This week is rivalry week in the league with a possible final playoff seed on the line and pride ripe for the picking.

The Battle for the Burg could land a fourth team a spot, while Broad Run and Park View renew a rivalry that the two teams split a year ago. The Panthers look to complete the Sterling two-step at Dominion and Briar Woods and Freedom tangle in the Bird Bowl.

All these made-up game names, overflowing with alliteration, have got us feeling all lyrical and English-majory. (One of us also worked 15 hours yesterday covering the election in Loudoun County, so we're not working on regular sleep here, people.) So today, for your reading pleasure, we've thrown together haikus on each of our top teams. If you don't remember that high school poetry lesson, the format is based on syllables per line. The pattern is 5-7-5. Keep in mind, neither of us were English majors and there's a reason why we cover sports and don't have any poetry anthologies out...yet.
