Loudoun Mom Blogs on Rape Lies
Conservative Mommy Life blogger Barbara criticizes mainstream media and the blogosphere for distributing lies about Palin charging rape victims for rape kits. “Since Palin's nomination, I have received and deleted emails and comments concerning this the baseless leftist lie that Sarah Palin charged rape victims for evidence-gathering kits.” Barbara continues to quote excerpts from an article by LifeNews, which “deconstructs this lie.”

Mommy Life has every right to structure her blog the way she wants, but bloggers who delete comments with which they don't agree lose all credibility and join the ranks of the propagandists they supposedly so abhor.

Barbara has deleted my comments on several occasions. If her arguments were solid, she'd invite disagreement and respond. Comment deletion is a sign of incredible weakness. My advice to readers would be to read "Mommy Life" and learn how the so-called "pro-life", anti-gay right thinks. But don't try to comment there if you disagree with Barbara Curtis.

She also has a pattern of slandering local organizations and individuals with whom she has political disagreements. Any attempt to correct her misrepresentations are then removed. On at least a few occasions, when a misrepresentation has been exposed elsewhere, she has silently edited (even completely rewritten) her posts with no acknowledgment of the correction. Sure, it's her blog and she is free to edit it into any appearance she likes, but octamatilda is right - ethical violations like these destroy credibility. Ultimately they demonstrate that her ideas can't hold up under challenge in the marketplace. She should stick to writing on a topic she knows something about, such as early childhood education.
